BassRack Amp
BassRack Amp: the free companion program for your computer. Process songs faster with your graphics card, record what your computer plays and import from download links. It runs next to the clock and hands every song to BassRack in your browser, where it becomes a new cassette in your library. The files stay on your device.
Use only audio you own or have the right to use.

Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) Beta · unsigned
The Windows beta is not available yet. Until then, this page explains what BassRack Amp does and how installing it will work.
macOS
Coming soon: a signed and notarized app for the menu bar.
No paid plan required
BassRack Amp is free for everyone, on every plan. BassRack also works without it: uploading your own audio files never needs BassRack Amp.
What it does
- Processes songs faster with your graphics card: any graphics card with DirectX 12 (NVIDIA, AMD or Intel), or the processor when there is none. Nothing is sent to BassRack’s servers.
- Imports a song from a direct download link to an audio file (mp3, wav, flac and more) or from an archive.org page, one song at a time, up to 15 minutes.
- Records what your computer plays, or one app, at high quality and in real time, up to 15 minutes. Recording one app needs Windows 11; recording what your computer plays works on Windows 10 and 11.
- Keeps the audio on your computer and hands it to the BassRack page in your browser.
- Sits next to the clock with its status, "Open BassRack", "Start with my computer", "About" and "Quit".

More info
Run anywayDon’t run
- Open the installer you downloaded.
- In the blue window, click More info.
- Check that the app is the BassRack Amp setup file, then click Run anyway.
After installing
- The installer needs no administrator rights. BassRack Amp appears in the Start menu and next to the clock.
- There is nothing else to download: BassRack Amp is ready as soon as it starts.
- Open BassRack: the tuner’s antenna goes up. Your browser may ask to let BassRack reach apps on this device: allow it.
- Press "Pair with this browser" and type the 6-digit code BassRack Amp shows. Then paste a link or start a recording.
Built to be safe
- It listens only on this computer (127.0.0.1): other devices on your network can’t reach it.
- Only BassRack pages can talk to it, and only after you pair your browser with a code shown on this computer.
- It downloads only the link you give it, and refuses video and streaming services, private or local addresses and access-restricted items.
- It records only when you start a recording, and runs no other programs.
- Nothing goes through BassRack’s servers: the songs it processes, downloads or records stay on your computer.
- Uninstall it any time from Windows Settings: it removes its start-up entry and its "Open BassRack Amp" link.
